Facilities Staff - Custodian

Job Description
The Custodian will be directly responsible for:
Providing a clean, and odour free environment, for the health and safety of the students, faculty, staff, and visitors while projecting a positive attitude.
To achieve this objective, the Custodian will also work closely with all NCC Staff, Faculty and Administration to ensure the best possible experience for our students, parents and constituents.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow department policies and procedures.
  • Ensure students privacy and maintain code of confidentiality.
  • Clean assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors, windows, walls, carpets, bathrooms and equipment with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
  • Replenish supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.
  • Clean and maintain janitor / storage areas and request supplies as needed.
  • Collect garbage/recycling from designated areas and empty when needed.
  • Assist with setups as needed.
  • Special cleaning as assigned which includes but not limited to: spring and summer cleaning.
Although this job description outlines many of the basic areas of responsibility of the Custodian, it is not intended to be exhaustive or inclusive. It is understood that other responsibilities will be necessary from time to time.

Job Requirements Skills and Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of related work experience.
  • Must be able to multitask, be flexible and work well with people.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, be exposed to heights and confined spaces.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, show initiative, be proactive and prioritize work.
Shifts run from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
