Health Centre Coordinator

Title: Health Centre Coordinator (HCC)

Reporting Structure: The HCC reports to the CEO. The HCC will also work closely with other senior administrative staff as required.

Location: The HCC will primarily work from the main campus of Niagara Christian Collegiate (NCC) located at 2619 Niagara Parkway, Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.

Job Status: The HCC position can be between 15 - 37.5 hrs/week and approximately 40 weeks per year.
Job Summary
The HCC will be directly responsible for:
1. Provision of primary care to NCC residential students
2. General oversight of the NCC Health Centre
3. Development of the policy framework for the operation of the Health Centre
4. Development of a mission and values for the Health Centre
5. Development and implementation of a master budget for the Health Centre
6. Supervision of all health care providers employed by the Health Centre or who work on campus to meet the needs of our students
7. Participating in casting a vision for NCC Health Centre programming and facilities
8. Developing and leading on site professional development opportunities for other staff as it relates to health care and well being

Duties and Responsibilities
The list below is not meant to be exhaustive, but will be used as a beginning framework for the continued development of this role. All specific duties and responsibilities are negotiable so as long as a balance of the best interests of the students, the HCC, and NCC is found.
1. Provision of primary health care to NCC residential students
1.1. Assess, diagnose, and treat student illness as required
1.2. Refer for outside care as required
1.3. Develop relationships with other care providers to facilitate appropriate care for students

2. General oversight of the NCC Health Centre
2.1. Supply Management
2.2. Scheduling of Staff
2.3. Scheduling of Appointments
2.4. Oversee the purchase of supplies and equipment as needed within the approved budget

3. Development of the policy framework for the operation of the Health Centre
3.1. Access to care policies
3.2. Emergency Care policies
3.3. Training policies for staff
3.4. Billing Policies
3.5. Communication and accountability policies with all stakeholders (students, parents, staff, outside agencies, etc)

4. Development of a mission and values for the Health Centre

5. Development and implementation of a master budget for the Health Centre
5.1. Set a supply and equipment start up budget
5.2. Ongoing budget needs and requests

6. Supervision of all health care providers employed by the Health Centre or who work on campus to meet the needs of our students
6.1. Controlling access to other services as well as records of what care students have received

7. Participating in casting a vision for NCC Health Centre programming and facilities
7.1. Development of an overall goal for health care at NCC
7.2. Identify next steps for the addition of care and services to meet the needs of our students
7.3. Working with the Site Operations office to determine space and facilities needs to continue to meet the needs of the our students

8. Developing and leading on site professional development opportunities for other staff as it relates to health care and well being
8.1. Access to care training
8.2. Personal Health and Well being support for staff and students
8.3. Offering seminars/lessons in classes connected to physical and mental health and well being

Job Requirements / Skills and Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse Practitioner in Ontario
• Minimum of three years working in a health care field connected to youth and/or families or public health
• High level organization and communication skills
• Ability to work in team based environment as both a leader and team member

Terms of Employment
Salary: TBD based on experience
