The focus this year is on growing in our understanding of God and all that He has done. Our hope is that students will be drawn closer to God as they come to know more about Him through our chapel programming.

Chapel includes several interactive parts. I begin with prayer, followed by sword drills where students race to find specific Scriptures that I call out. We then review past lessons or take time for students to share things they’ve written in their chapel notebooks about God this year. After that, we move into the message, and I open the floor for questions at the end. The format has been very engaging, giving students multiple ways to connect with the material and reflect on their own spiritual walks. It’s been a lot of fun, and the students seem to be engaging well week to week.

Each week, we are bringing the Exodus story to life through drama, involving the students as we share and celebrate the glory of God. 

 

As for the City, a youth group run on campus through LifeHouse Community Church, this too has been an incredible area of ministry. The group is quite large this year, including both NCC students and children from the local community. It’s a wonderful opportunity for gospel growth and connection—both internally and externally. The community kids leave the City each week inspired and encouraged to live out what they’ve learned, while our students benefit from the chance to connect in a context outside the classroom.

It continues to be a time of joy, activity, and meaningful relationship-building throughout the week. We continue to pray that, through all of this, students and kids would have their eyes opened more and more to God—and that they would grow to follow Him and lift His name high.
